“My visa was delayed. Thank God it’s here. I am looking forward to meeting my UK-based fans this weekend. After ‘Kundibatirana’, my latest video ‘I Belong to Jesus’ is out. I will launch the video in the UK.”

Gospel musician Fungisai Zvakavapano-Mashavave is set to perform in UK this weekend alongside Mutare musicians Dboi and Sparxx at an event dubbed “Summer Shutdown Edition Tour”.

After failing to attend the 2016 UK Summer Invasion Tour and Festival that saw the likes of Tocky Vibez, Shinsoman and Freeman performing, Fungisai and the Afro-pop brothers have finally gotten their permits and are ready for the UK.

Organisers took to their Facebook page to announce the upcoming performances in a post that read, “Fungisai and Afro-pop duo from Mutare will tour the UK under the banner titled “UK Summer Invasion #TheShutDownEdition” on September 10 2016 in Leicester at the Oxygen NightClub and September 11 2016 in Dunstable at the Dunstable Rugby Club grounds respectively.

“There will be a Luton event on the afternoon of September 11 2016 and it will be a barbeque family day event which will showcase top quality music, authentic Zimbabwean food and culture.”

Fungisai showed great excitement about her upcoming performance in the UK.

“My visa was delayed. Thank God it’s here. I am so much looking forward to meeting my UK-based fans this weekend,” she said.

She also announced that she will release her new video “I Belong to Jesus” in the UK.

“After ‘Kundibatirana’, my latest video ‘I Belong to Jesus’ is out. I will launch the video in the UK.”

The UK Summer Invasion tour which was launched this year will be an annual event with the motive of raising awareness of the Zimbabwean and Southern African Heritage.

ZimTalent Arts & Culture Trust which is handling the marketing in Zimbabwe is a partnering entity in the UK Summer Invasion Touring Programme.
