Former oppressers will never stand for your rights-Nkomo

Addressing villagers in Chimanimani recently where he had gone to pay his condolences to the Ngorima family following the death of provincial hero and friend, Cde Timothy Chikwata Hlabiso Ngorima in December, Cde Nkomo, said only Zimbabweans should have a say on the destiny of the country.

“It is surprising that some youths are being swayed into thinking that our former oppressors will stand for our rights. No. That can never be. We are masters of our own destiny,” he said.

Cde Nkomo and Ngorima were once detained together at Gonakudzingwa during the liberation struggle.
Popularly known as TC, Cde Ngorima died on Christmas Day and was laid to rest at his Rusitu home in Chimanimani District.

During his visit to Cde Ngorima’s homestead, Cde Nkomo described the late traditional leader as a selfless cadre who played an important part in the liberation of the country.
Cde Nkomo said youths must emulate the behaviour and thinking of people like Cde Ngorima.-Manica Post
