CHEGUTU Municipality finance director Mr Isaac Mhaka has been dismissed from work after he was found guilty of theft. Council brought Mr Mhaka before a disciplinary committee for embezzling $15 000 through fraudulent activities. This was after council conducted an internal audit in April this year.He was suspended in June to allow for investigations into the allegations.

The disciplinary authority found Mr Mhaka guilty as charged.

His dismissal was endorsed by the Local Government Board on August 19.

“He was eventually found guilty of all the six charges of theft by the disciplinary authority.

“Council endorsed the decision. The Local Government Board approved the dismissal on August 19,” a source told The Herald.

Chegutu Municipality town clerk Mr Alex Mandigo confirmed the development yesterday.
