HARARE giants Dynamos will have it their way after they were granted the request to move the Premiership match against Hwange to the National Sports Stadium under floodlights tonight.

Kick-off is 7pm.

The former champions were supposed to feature in a double-header which also included the match between Harare City and Shabanie Mine at Rufaro but they successfully pressed for an evening kick-off at the giant facility in order to boost their coffers ahead of the trip to Bulawayo this weekend.

The club’s secretary-general Webster Marechera confirmed the fixture amendment. “We have been playing our midweek matches under floodlights of late because we believe there is a chance of getting more people to watch the match in the evening than in the afternoon.

“It’s tricky hosting a midweek match during the working hours because many people will be busy. “But Rufaro remains our home. We had thought of playing the match there in the evening but the lights are not working properly. So we had to make a request to the PSL for a change of venue to the National Sports Stadium. The gate charges remain the same.

“This is the best decision we could make also putting into consideration that our next game will be away to Bulawayo so we expect to get something from hosting this match to take care of the trip,” said Marechera.

Dynamos are looking to continue building on their positive performances following the wins in their last two matches against Black Rhinos and Triangle.

They beat Hwange 1-0 in the reverse leg at the Colliery and are looking at completing a double over the coal-miners.

They are set to welcome Denver Mukamba back into the fold after the talented midfielder had missed two games due to suspension and then illness.

Their coach Lloyd Mutasa was happy that new signings Godfrey Mukambi, Jimmy Konono and striker Thembinkosi Simango have received their licences from PSL to start playing for the Glamour Boys.

But the bad news is that their chief striker Cameroonian forward Christian Joel Epoupa could be out for some weeks with a groin injury.

“The way we have begun this second half of the season, in comparison to the first three games when we had four points at this stage, we now have six, shows there is improvement.

“But history tells us that matches against Hwange are not easy matches, they have always been closely-fought. So whatever form Hwange have, each time we play them we have to have it in mind that it’s not going to be an easy match.

“We are also mindful of how they have been performing under new coach Bigboy Mawiwi. They are doing quite okay. But we are at home and we have to do our best to come out with maximum points,” said Mutasa.
