THE World Navi Northern Region Division One soccer league will tomorrow unveil Supreme Panel Beaters as the official sponsor for the Golden Boot award.
The unveiling ceremony will be held in Msasa and the development comes as a boost for the league who have already secured sponsorship for this season and best player of the year award.
The Northern Region leadership secured a deal with World Navi, a Japan-based company that is involved in the selling of Japanese second-hand cars, early this year.

The deal will see them receiving three cars of which of one will be given to the best player of the year. The winner will also get the opportunity to go for trials at Vissel Kobe, in the Japanese J League.

But the league is trying to engage other sponsors to cater for the other awards, including the Golden Boot.
Northern Region chairman, Willard Manyengavana, said it’s encouraging to have more sponsors coming on board as they seek to reward outstanding players in the league.

“What is sponsored by the World Navi is the best player of the year only. They will also offer him the opportunity to go for trials at Vissel Kobe.
We have not negotiated on the duration of the trials but the only problem is it will be very cold when their season starts.

“What we are going to do as a region, we are in the process of looking for a sponsor to chip in with awards for the rest of the 10 players. For the Golden Boot award, we have secured one sponsor whom we are going to unveil on Friday.

“We are going to come up with the 11 best players and the other 10 we will find a way of rewarding them. We are trying to find out what we can do,” said Manyengavana.

Manyengavana urged administrators and clubs to be professional so that they create a conducive environment for more sponsorship.
“Obviously we are expected to act in a very professional way, especially our clubs, we expect them to be professional.

And as administrators as well we need to be professional now we have the corporate world working with us, we don’t need to spoil their names by misbehaving.
We want to make sure that as a league we maintain a high standard,” Manyengavana said.

Gunners’ Moses Demera is currently leading the Golden Boot race with 11 goals.
Other contenders are Black Mambas’ Kasimero Chimbadzwa with nine goals while Gunners’ McDonald Motsi and Enasio Perezo of Ngezi Platinum have eight goals each.
