Bishop. B. Manjoro Dunamis
Faith is the substance of things hoped for; the evidence of things not seen; without it, it is impossible to please God to the extent that all that is without faith is sin.

It is paramount therefore that every child of God be thoroughly grounded in principles and keys of walking by faith. Faith is fundamental. You can move from last to first, from insignificance, a nobody and an outcast to significant, being somebody and first class! It is possible.

However, you need to be determined in your journey of faith. In this year of restoration keep determined and you will experience your miracle. Read on about one determined young lady named Ruth. Favour is a supernatural empowerment of God in an individual’s life. It distinguishes you and makes you stand out amongst the rest.

It’s so real, tangible and strong such that nothing can stop you when it rests on your life. However, favour like any other provision of heaven does not work without determination and faith. There is a kind of determination that draws favour on one’s life. It’s the kind of determination that was on the Moabites’ woman named Ruth.

It paved a way for her, right to the genealogy of the Lord Jesus Christ even though she was not a Jew.

That kind of favour when it comes upon your life, qualifies the unqualified, but it takes an enduring and persistent faith to function in it.

“And she (Naomi) said, Behold, thy sister in law is gone back unto her people, and unto her gods: return thou after thy sister in law. And Ruth said, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for whither thou goest, I will go: and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God: Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried: the Lord do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me. When she saw that she was steadfastly minded to go with her, then she left speaking unto her.” Ruth 1:15-18.

Ruth was a daughter in law of Naomi whose family had gone to so-journey in Moab because of famine in Israel.

Unfortunately, Naomi’s husband Elimelech died in Moab. The two sons of Naomi, Mahlon and Chilion then married Ruth and Orpah who were Moabites. Disappointingly these two sons also die, leaving Naomi only with her two daughter-in laws, Ruth and Orpah.

Upon staying with the two women for some time, Naomi decides to release them to go back to their countrymen and start new lives — drought also had ended in Beth- lehem.

It is at this point that decisions had to be made. Both for a moment said they would not let go nor give up, until Orpah, finally consented and let go. She made up her mind and waved good bye to the old lady Naomi. However something else was boiling and burning in Ruth. In her heart was something, there was a strong faith, a faith that sees a door where others see no door or future; a faith that sees healthy babies where the doctors have diagnosed infertility; a faith that see heaps of bills being fully paid where other are being hospitalised due to stress and high Blood Pressure (BP)!

Friend, there is a kind determination that knows no failure nor “No” in life. It has no reverse gear nor second thoughts on its goal and destiny.

It’s the kind of faith that is tenacious and draws favour! Favour is not ordinary — it’s supernatural and is drawn by determination.

Have you been living a miserable life and experiencing persistent hurting situations? Have faith in God. Your area of disadvantage can be turned around into success; the history of failure in your family can suddenly be changed into a prosperous story You can overcome.

You can win and conquer it with the determination in God. You can live happily with your spouse again! You can have your family, business and project back together again. Ooo hallelujah! Yes, you can do it. There is an attitude that draws favour! Let it come your way in this year of restoration.

May favour be restored and turn around your sad story into good news in Jesus name!

Seeing the determination of Ruth, Naomi had no option but to go back to Israel with the resilient young woman. My friend, determination moves God.

He cannot ignore it. At one time in history men conceived an idea. It was to build a tower and a city whose top would reach heaven. God watched them from the heavens.

The people were so united, serious and determined about their project so much such that God had to interrupt them before they reached heaven for the Bible records that, “and the Lord came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. And the Lord said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them . . . let us go down and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another’s speech” Genesis 11:5-7.

Determination is a key that unlocks faith that draws favour and turns around your circumstances. Be determined to be well; to have a good marriage; to clear your debt; to get a job; to live right — and whatever it is you want in life — be determined! Finally Ruth’s faith gave birth.

It connected her to Boaz, a rich Jewish man of the lineage of the Lord Jesus Christ, which made Ruth a great grandmother to the Messiah.

Jews were there but they missed the valuable opportunity, honour and legacy to be in Christ’s genealogy! For with God all things are possible (Mark 10:27)
