THE league championship race could be decided this weekend if Highlanders win their match against Harare City and champions Dynamos lose their tough tie against Chicken Inn in Bulawayo and FC Platinum drop points at How Mine.
Highlanders have the destiny of the league championship in their hands if they can beat Harare City at Rufaro on Sunday and then finish off Shabanie Mine at home in their last game.

The celebrations could come early for Bosso, who are also chasing the Mbada Diamonds Cup, if they overcome Harare City while at the same time Dynamos lose against Chicken Inn at Barbourfields. A victory for Highlanders will take them to 54 points while Dynamos and Harare City could only finish on 53 points if they win their last games against Black Mambas and CAPS United respectively. But there is also FC Platinum who remain dark horses in this drama.

FC Platinum could reach the 54 point mark by winning their last two games but the miners would need a big goal harvest to overhaul Bosso and claim the championship.

Harare City can also put themselves in a very strong position to claim the title if they beat Bosso and while Dynamos lose against Chicken Inn in Bulawayo. Harare City will then only need to win their last match against CAPS United to be crowned champions. That is all easier said than done because Dynamos could be praying for a draw at Rufaro on Sunday while they hope to overcome Chicken Inn and reclaim the top spot.

The Glamour Boys would then need to win their last game against Warumwa Warumwa to claim a third title in a row under Callisto Pasuwa.

FC Platinum will pray for draws in matches involving the top teams while they win their remaining games to clinch the championship.
The situation is also tricky at the bottom of the table where Black Rhinos need to pull themselves up while Black Mambas, Buffaloes, Shabanie Mine and Hwange are not completely safe. Newboys How Mine ensured their safety yesterday when they beat Monomotapa 1-0 at Gwanzura.

The fate of Monoz, Motor Action and Tripple B has since been sealed after they were relegated.

Tomorrow
Motor Action v CAPS United (Rufaro, SS9)
Sunday
Chicken Inn v Dynamos (Barbourfields), Black Mambas v Tripple B (Morris Depot), How Mine v FC Platinum (Luveve), Buffaloes v Monomotapa Utd (Sakubva), Black Rhinos v Hwange (Rimuka), Harare City v Highlanders (Rufaro, SS9), Shabanie Mine v Triangle (Maglas)
