REGIS CHAKABVA struck a century for Zimbabwe A in their first innings tally of 287 yesterday in the four-day cricket match against South Africa Emerging. The right-handed batsman, who was part of the Chevrons’ successful tour of Sri Lanka, hit a 107 in 143 balls for the Zimbabwe A side. In response, the South Africans were unbeaten on 28-0 at stumps.

On a good day for Zimbabwe cricketers, the country’s Under-19, who have shown they are quite a competitive outfit, thrashed their Kenyan counterparts.

Zimbabwe, batting first, compiled 267 with skipper Liam Roche, who has been leading from the front, scoring a half century.

In reply, the East Africans were bowled out for 143 in 44.4 overs.
