CAPS United say they have put the disappointment of the chaos of their midweek defeat to Hwange behind them and turned their attention to their match against Chiredzi United at the National Sports Stadium  tomorrow.Coach Taurai Mangwiro said it was a sheer waste of resources to make the trip to the Colliery where controversy marred their defeat with the match officials’ conduct being questioned.

“It was a sheer waste of time and resources. It was better to have donated the points. It is so sad for our football and some people continue to ruin our football by bad officiating.

“I don’t mind losing 5-0 so long the playing field is even. We have since forgotten about what happened and we are focusing on our next game. We need to remain focused as a unit and keep working hard,” he said.

Mangwiro said the fact that they were the only team to play on a Thursday, after all the other teams had fulfilled their games, might have added the pressure in their game.

“We just saw the fixture like that and couldn’t question it. But for this game, it kind of exerted pressure on us if what happened in Hwange is anything to go by, I have never seen such a thing in my life.

“But I believe there is a God out there and one day sanity will prevail,” said Mangwiro.

The soft-spoken mentor said they will treat Chiredzi with respect.

“We regroup tomorrow (today) and we will see who is fit and who is not but we have a large pool of players to choose from.  Obviously we will miss Honey (Chimutimunzeve) who was red carded in Hwange and as well as Tendai (Samanja) whom I understand is suspended,” he said.

Yesterday, Chiredzi assistant coach Dzingai Murinye, said they were not putting themselves under pressure.

“I would like to believe that we will keep on picking points as in the last three matches we have managed to accumulate four points.

“The guys are putting in a lot of work and it should come right. If they (CAPS United) look down upon us they would be shocked,” he said.

Elsewhere in the capital today, Harare City caretaker coach Masimba Dinyero welcome Chapungu at Rufaro.

Across town at Gwanzura, Saul Chaminuka’s ZPC Kariba will be hoping to continue with their unbeaten run when they host Shabanie.
