HARARE giants CAPS United say they are relieved their vice-captain Leonard Tsipa is available for selection tomorrow when they travel to ZPC Kariba in a quest to enhance their fight for a top four finish in this year’s castle Lager Premiership race.

Tsipa, who played a key role as a lone striker in the last match against Highlanders when the Green Machine won 3-1 at the National Sports Stadium, had been doubtful after he was taken out late in the match against Highlanders.

The veteran forward is enjoying a new lease of life after returning to his old club. His stint however, has been rocked by injuries. Makepekepe team manager Shakespeare Chinogwenya yesterday said the Green Machine do not have injury worries ahead of the tricky away tie.

“Everyone is okay,” said Chinogwenya.

“We only had fears for Leonard who could not finish the game in that last assignment against Highlanders but I can confirm he is doing quite okay at training.”

Makepekepe are looking to build on their newly found form after picking big wins against Hwange and Highlanders in their last two assignments.

However, they are likely to find resistance from the hosts who have also been on a revival path and also winning their last two games against Harare City and Flame Lily.

“It’s not like we are going there to get a walkover. ZPC Kariba are a good team with good players and a respected coach (Sunday Chidzambwa). So it promises to be a tough match, but we are geared for it.

“We have been training hard during the short break as we were not involved in the Chibuku Super Cup semi-finals last weekend. The weather has changed and it’s usually hot in the afternoons these days and the conditions should be worse in Kariba.

“I think we are preparing our boys for that. This week we have been training in the afternoon just to make sure that we get used to the hot conditions.

“Like what the coach has said in recent interviews, we are aiming to finish on a respectable position on the log. The chances for a top finish still look bright because we have been picking up points both at home and away. But there is still a long way to go,” said Chinogwenya.
