A Nyanga woman, Mrs Talent Kadzima, recently donated over 100 bags of cement to Nyajezi High School for the construction of an “A” Level classroom block. She also donated a water pump to Nyajezi Primary School for agricultural purposes. Mrs Kadzima is a director of Eduwise Education Consultancy. She is also the chief executive officer of the Chartered Institute of Professional Financial Managers (CIPFM). Chief Hata, who attended the event, applauded the philanthropic gesture, which will also see less privileged children in the district getting school fees.

“Today, I salute you my daughter for being outstanding and what you are doing for our community. You are not only a star, but a shining star. You have made a difference. It signifies the shape of great things to come. It is great to note that women can do it too and it is a special lesson to others as well. Always give back and you will definitely get a reward,” said Chief Hata. To date, Mrs Kadzima has helped in building a waiting shelter for expecting mothers at Nyatate Clinic, an ECD block at St Noah’s 2 Primary School and Saunyama Primary School, including accommodation for teachers at Nyarumvurwe High School. Classroom blocks at Mapako and Nyajezi Secondary schools have also been constructed through her efforts. Mapako High School headmaster Mr Bonwell Mapara expressed gratitude over Kadzima’s generous gesture in helping the less privileged and schools in the area.

“If I was to build this block alone using only the resources that I have, it would have taken at least three years to complete it. Now, three years have been reduced to six months because our daughter saw the need to help her brothers, sisters and the local community. My job has been made very easy,” said Mr Mapara. Mrs Kadzima, who was the guest of honour at the school’s prize-giving day, urged students to take school seriously, saying it would transform their lives one day.

“We are all gathered here, happy and excited. Our parents fought a great war on our behalf so that we enjoy the freedom of education. We should not disappoint them. Let us work hard to transform our nation,” she said.
