FLAME Lilly are not concerned about walking into the lion’s den when they take on leaders Bindura United at Chipadze tomorrow in what promises to be an epic World Navi Northern Region Division One soccer league.
Flame Lilly are coming from a win that saw them moving up to third position, while Bindura — who are now just a point ahead of second-placed Gunners after collecting a point in their last game against Mushowani — want to bounce back to winning ways.

However, with Flame Lilly declaring their interest in the championship in a race that has become unpredictable, the log leaders should be prepared for a tough encounter.

Flame Lilly coach Nesbert “Yabo” Saruchera yesterday said it was not a secret that they were chasing the league title and were confident they will be promoted come end of the season.

They will be missing their regular strikers Tatenda Mapingire and Prosper Chinyama at the weekend.

“All games in Division One are tough, there are no easy games so we will treat it just like any other game. We will be promoted, definitely, we are not keeping that a secret because that’s what we want. We just have to reduce the gap, that’s why it’s going to be an important game to us.

“We are expecting a positive result away from home so that we keep close to the leaders. We are not worried about the position because you find that sometimes we are separated by just a point or two. So we will be very happy with that.

“We have two injuries to Tatenda and Prosper but the other guys are ready,” said Saruchera.

Saruchera hinted that they will be adding a few strikers to their squad and negotiations were already underway with the players and clubs involved.
