BINDURA United face a stern test in their quest to bounce back to winning ways in the World Navi Northern Region Division One League when they take on Flame Lilly at Chikurubi in what promises to be an exciting match this afternoon. Bindura are coming from defeat at the hands Karoi United two weeks ago.

The Mashonaland Central side was inactive last week as their opponents ZRP Morris were taking part in the police games.

And, after last week’s break, Bindura will be hoping to bounce back to winning ways while, on the other hand, second-placed Flame Lilly have indicated they will leave no stone unturned in their quest for success.

Bindura coach, John Wilo, is confident his side will recover from the setback today when they take on the prison officers at Chikurubi.

Wilo said last week’s rest was a blessing to them as they needed more time to regroup considering that they were coming from a defeat against Karoi.

“Definitely, it gave us more time as we are coming from a defeat against Karoi. Normally, when you get a defeat most of the players shun training sessions so it was important for us to regroup.

“We played some friendly matches with teams from the lower division and it was good we won. I can say we have managed to put the team in shape,” said Wilo.

The two teams drew 0-0 in their first meeting at Chipadze.

Bindura, who spent most of the first half on top of the log table, feel they are running out of time as they seek to return to the apex to shore up their fight for the championship.

Wilo said expectations are high within their camp and today’s game is a must-win for his side.

“It’s one of the important games we need to win and remain in the race.  If we lose it means we are going down.  It’s a turning point and we must win the game. People are expecting a lot but I hope justice will prevail.

“I am happy the players themselves are geared up to play,” said Wilo.

Bindura are currently fourth on the log standings, trailing the pacesetters, Gunners by six points although they have a game in hand.

However, it is Flame Lily who feel they have more to play for.

The prison side is just a point behind the log leaders and a  win tomorrow may see them shooting to the top if their rivals Gunners lose or draw.

Their coach Nesbert “Yabo” Saruchera, a specialist in guiding teams from Division One  into the Premiership, believes that his team is primed to  strike and win the tough race.

Saruchera knows that, in this division, it’s usually what you do at home that matters at the end.
