JOHANNESBURG. — On April 11, the best motocross riders in South Africa and Zimbabwe will compete in the second round of the Monster Energy South African National Championship, sanctioned by Motorsport South Africa in Cape Town.

Round one in Harrismith proved to be a real eye-opener and a tough race with some huge upsets and some riders taking home some big points in their championships.

The Zimbabwean contingent will be led by the country’s champion rider, Jayden Ashwell, who will compete in the main MX1 Class, where he will once again tackle some of the best riders in South Africa.

In the 125cc High School Class, Regan Wasmuth will be carrying the Zimbabwean flag with Wade Ashwell while the exciting nine-year-old Emmanuel Bako will be fighting for the top honours in the 50cc Class where he will join forces with Mudiwa Chigumba.

In the first round at Harrismith, Wasmuth (14) qualified 7th in the 125cc High School Class, finished 6th in the first heat, then had a bad start in the second heat and went down making a pass; and this saw him finishing ninth overall with 30 points.

This left him tied sixth in the 2015 South African National Championship points standing after round one.
