ZIMBABWE’s Korfball national team went into camp yesterday to start preparing for biennial Africa Senior Championship World qualifiers in Zambia next week.
The senior team, which played well in their last edition and came second behind South Africa, are confident of success following rigorous training camps and practice sessions.
President of Zimbabwe Korfball Association, Tarirai Chadeba, said he was confident with the strength of the squad ahead of the qualifiers from August 5-9. “We are officially beginning camping today but since May we have been having weekend camps, the players have been undergoing rigorous training sessions and the team is more than ready for the World Cup qualifiers,” said Chadeba.

The team is also expecting a technical director form the Netherlands, Riko Kruit, who will be helping them with their preparations.
“New rules and regulations were recently passed in Korfball so Kruit will be helping the coaches and the team incorporate those new developments.”
