Zanu-PF to crack whip on errant members Cde Mike Madiro

Manicaland Bureau
THERE will be no more liberalism in Zanu-PF in Manicaland because cases of indiscipline are increasing and creating fissures within the ruling party, the party’s provincial chairman, Cde Michael Madiro ,has said.

He said his the party would not hesitate to take action against individuals for indiscipline and creating chaos.

He said they had made headway in a few hearings involving party cadres who had gone astray.

“Cde (Dorothy) Mabika is responsible for disciplinary issues as the vice chairperson in the party,” he said.

“We had a few disciplinary hearings a few days ago for some party cadres. We have been too liberal for a long time, but we have now reached a point where we say this is enough; people should be disciplined. This was also the point at which some party members who had gone astray started returning to the right path,” he said.

Cde Madiro said they had set up a team to handle disciplinary cases in the province.

He said the team would target “hotspots” in the province where some Zanu-PF members were failing to abide by the party’s principles.

“We want the team to make sure that those districts start moving in the right direction,” he said.

Cde Madiro called for unity within the party saying Manicaland province should not be known for factionalism and indiscipline.

He warned party members against relying on social media for information, saying Zanu-PF was guided by its principles and constitution.

Meanwhile, ZANU-PF party will square off with the MDC Alliance and NCA in the Mutoko North by-election set for November 24, writes our Mashonaland East correspondent Victor Maphosa.

Cde Rambidzai Nyabote of ZANU-PF, Mr Boniface Mushore (MDC Alliance) and Mr Edson Mugoma (NCA) will contest the seat after they successfully filed their papers at the nomination court recently.

The Mutoko North constituency seat became vacant after the elevation of ZANU-PF legislator Cde Mabel Chinomona to Senate President.

In an interview with The Herald recently, Cde Nyabote said he was ready to defend the seat from the opposition.

“As Zanu-PF we are ready to defend this seat, it is ours and we will keep it. We are so confident that we will even surpass the numbers which we bagged during the harmonised elections,” Cde Nyabote said.

He said as soon as he assumes office, he will strive to uplift the Mutoko North community and transform it using all the natural resources availed to  them.

“My focus is to transform the lives of people in my constituency. We have the best natural resources in this whole province and we will utilise them. I will work hard and tap into these resources for the benefit of the people,” he said.

Cde Nyabote, who won the just ended primary elections, called out to Zanu-PF supporters in Mutoko North to be united.

Cde Nyabote’s call resonated with provincial commissar Cde Herbert Shumbamhini’s call for party supporters to close ranks and approach the by-election as a united force.
