Reflections Isdore Guvamombe
Back in the village, in the land of milk, honey and dust or Guruve, by the time a fool masters the game, the match is over and the players have already dispersed.
In the village, elders with cotton tuft hair say knowledge without wisdom is like water in the sand. Again, in a moment of crisis, the wise build bridges while the foolish build dams.

The full import of this dear reader is that Zimbabwe successfully held its elections on July 31, in which Zanu-PF, that great revolutionary party and vanguard of African humanism, thumped its main rival, the British protégé, MDC-T.
Do village elders not say beat a child today and by nightfall you will have known who its father is?

By the time MDC-T learnt to campaign, the election was over. The Zanu-PF campaign machinery was smoothly oiled and hyperactive that it left MDC-T drooling with envy, and disbelief.

Thanks to Team Zanu-PF!
This villager will not delve into how much the British and their American counterparts mourned more than the bereaved when results started showing that MDC-T was dead and getting buried. They are the parents of the beaten child.

Understandably, the village soothsayer, the ageless autochthon of wisdom and knowledge said MDC-T leader Morgan Tsvangirai, his entire party and its British and American parents, now suffer from post election loss traumatic disorder. These guys are living in utter denial of the reality that they are dead and buried.

The beauty of it is that it is an election loss that was expected, given the dearth of political and social knowledge by the MDC-T whose Euro-centric ideas and policies do not resonate with the poor back in the village where the majority of Zimbabweans live.

For the avoidance of doubt, MDC-T must introspect and see how a coterie of sanctions-induced economic and social suffering turned the electorate against it.

The party must assess how on earth it dreamed of winning the votes of my mother in the village by promoting gay rights?
MDC-T and Tsvangirai himself must climb out of this bad dream of how security sector reform could win him votes when it is so much technical to make sense to my mother, brother and sister in Dande.

No one and virtually no one except the naïve British and American governments could dream of MDC-T winning the elections when the leadership lacks social and political education.

In fact, it is the ancestors of this land of Munhumutapa, Lobengula, Mzilikazi, Mapondera, Nehanda and Kaguvi who were so infuriated to the point of turning and twisting in their graves with anger and disgust by the political circus that docked our country during the four years of the inclusive Government.

For the first time in the 33-year history of Zimbabwe, some dunces found themselves in Government, becoming dignified by the public offices they held, albeit via the back door.

People who by their own admission had no faint idea how a Government is run found themselves in higher offices, directing policy as Government ministers.

Some people, who qualified to be village idiots — the ones who urinate in the communal well — surely found themselves running important ministries. At the end they achieved nothing except proving to the world that they are indeed material for village foolhardy.

Zimbabwe was born out of the blood, limbs and life sacrifices of many gallant sons and daughters so much that it does not deserve these sell-outs to be in the ranks and files of Government. We had this misfortune of having hard-core Rhodesians who killed our people during the struggle, coming back, courtesy of MDC-T.

Surely, that was our gift from Morgan Tsvangirai. Did we need David Coltart? Did we need Giles Mutsekwa?
Did we really deserve this insult? The July 31 poll was therefore our greatest opportunity to bury and forget the wasted four years of the inclusive Government by ensuring that the Zanu-PF Government fires on all cylinders. Yes, Zanu-PF won the election resoundingly, but the same Zanu-PF must deliver to ensure that the sell-outs will not have a second bite of the cherry.

This is the time for deliverables and no time for political jokes. Future generations will judge us if we allow MDC-T to climb out of its political grave in 2018, through our own omission or commission.

Zanu-PF has the power. It has the majority.
It has the brains and it indeed has the capacity to turn the fortunes of Zimbabwe in the same manner that it dismantled the racist Rhodesian regime.

Everything promised to the people in the campaign manifesto should be delivered to the people of Zimbabwe, not only because it was promised to them but because they believed in it and delivered the vote based on it. The people of Zimbabwe deserve that delivery.
If Zanu-PF delivered Independence under the most difficult conditions what makes Zanu-PF fail today to deliver the manifesto to the people?

Zanu-PF is The Party and Zanu-PF is the Government and Zanu-PF is the future of Zimbabwe. Zanu-PF is the vanguard of our dignity, our image and our humanism. Zanu-PF is a way of life and life itself.

Zanu-PF is Zimbabwe. Like or hate Zanu-PF, it is there to rule and change the lives of the people of Zimbabwe. It is incumbent upon Team Zanu-PF to prove to the world that it is there by the people and for the people of Zimbabwe.

Back in the village, a people without history are not a people.
This is the final phase of the struggle for Zimbabwe and let Zanu-PF deliver the totality of Zimbabwe to the people.
They deserve it. They are waiting for it.

They want to enjoy the fruits of their July 31 vote.
Don’t let them down, they will be heart-broken.
