A Moses Demera last kick of the game was all Yadah FC needed as the newboys rallied from behind to snatch a vital point on the road in a Castle Lager Premier Soccer League tie at Gibbo yesterday.

“The away point is very crucial to us at this stage of the season, I thought we had a chance to kill the game and go back to Harare with all three points but my boys lacked concentration towards the end but its bitter sweet and I am happy we managed to snatch a point with the last kick of the match,” said Yadah coach Thomas Ruzive.

Triangle have all but themselves to blame for dropping two precious points after coming from a goal down and scoring two quick fire goals in the last 10 minutes of the game before going to sleep and give Yadah a lifeline and a chance to score at the death.

“We just could not cross the finishing line, when you are careless going forward and you think you are almost there you sleep, the moment we allowed the winger to cross the ball that’s where we lost it. It was not an easy game, we had to dig deep and in the end it’s so sad we could not get all the three points”, said Triangle coach Taurai Mangwiro. The match started on a very slow note despite a chance for each side inside the opening quarter of an hour. Demera had a shot saved by Tapiwa Chilenga in the 10th minute before Kudzai Chigwida’s goal bound effort was blocked by an alert Yadah captain Jimmy Dzingai.

Yadah continued to attack and they were duly rewarded for their pressure Guthrie Zhokinyu handled Milton Makopa’s effort and the referee was right to point to the spot. Wellington Kamudyariwa took the matters into his own hands and sent Chilenga the wrong way. The debutants could have added a second three minutes later but Bryron Madzokere’s rasping effort came back into the field of play off the underside of the crossbar and Demera’s effort was pushed for a corner kick moments later.

Triangle captain Nhamo Lameck who is vying for the best players in 2017 campaign wasted two chances in succession as he first ballooned his effort over the bar before his other shot went just wide of Samuel Mafukidze’s goal on the cusp of half-time. The second half started well for the visitors and they enjoyed possession with Dennis Dauda enjoying much of the ball in the middle of the park before Mangwiro made a tactical substitution. Striker Eriko Phiri was introduced for defender Chimwamuchere in the 75th minute and everything changed.

Phiri hit the woodwork with his first touch in the 76th minute and scored five minutes later reacting quicker rebounding his effort into the back of the net after Yadah failed to deal with Zhokinyu’s freekick. The visitors defence could not deal with excessive pressure from Triangle and they were giving away unnecessary free kicks inside their half and striker Johannes Sibanda handled in the 89th minute to give Triangle an opportunity to wrap up the game.
