Chapungu……………… (0) 1 Yadah ……………………. (0)1
PREMIERSHIP debutants Yadah conceded for the first time this season, but roared back to preserve their unbeaten run in the Castle Lager Premiership after holding Chapungu at Ascot yesterday.

The hosts surged ahead four minutes after the interval through Allan Tavarwisa who sent a first-time volley to beat Dube all systems out after Ian Nyoni had sent in a perfect cross.

Tavarwisa’s goal was the first to be conceded by Yadah this season.

However, Yadah restored parity in the 77th minute through a Leeroy Mavhunga penalty when William Ngonya was adjudged to have handled in the box.

The hosts’ Maxwell Mavuto missed a penalty in the 23rd minute.

Chapungu coach Tendai Chikuni felt his side could have won the match but was happy with a point.

“It was a game we should have won but we wasted a lot of chances.

The good thing is that the strikers now have their presence felt in the box and we are now converting chances.

“Supporters need to be patient and there will not be any talk of relegation come end of the season,” said Chikuni.

His counterpart Jairos Tapera was satisfied with the result.

“This was a tough match and I should give credit to Chapungu. However, I am happy with the draw, especially playing away from home,” said Tapera.
