Yadah coach Mangombe demands consistency Genesis Mangombe

YADAH Stars coach Genesis Mangombe says he does not want his charges to be carried away by their recent win over Highlanders when they travel to Mandava for a date with in-form Chapungu tomorrow. Yadah last weekend produced a shock 1-0 win over Bulawayo giants Highlanders at Rufaro.

But Yadah tomorrow travel to Zvishavane to face Chapungu who are enjoying a fine run in the top-flight league.
Chapungu are flying high having registered five wins, four draws and two loses in 11 games.
The Rodwell Dhlakama-coached side are three points behind joint log leaders Chicken Inn and CAPS United who are both on 22 points.

A win tomorrow will give them an opportunity to tally points with the log leaders.
Their opponents Yadah are sitting third from bottom of the log after amassing only nine points from 11 outings.
Although Chapungu are technically the home side at Mandava where they have been hosting their opponents, the Zvishavane venue is more of a neutral one since their Ascot home ground in Gweru is yet to be homologated by ZIFA.

Yadah gaffer Mangombe said he needs consistency from his players if they are to move away from the relegation zone.
Mangombe will welcome back two of his influential players — veteran defender Byron Madzokere and slippery right winger Leeroy Mavhunga — from national team duty where they were part of the Warriors squad at the recent COSAFA Cup tournament in South Africa.

He believes the return of the duo will add depth and attacking options into his team ahead of the clash with Chapungu.
“Obviously I’m pleased with the result against Highlanders.

My players showed positive character and determination to win the match and we got all three points.
“But we shouldn’t get carried away, we need consistency and once we continue to win games consistently, confidence will also come.

“We need to go into this game with the same positive mentality that we showed against Highlanders.
“We are also happy that Byron and Leeroy are back in the team.

They are training with the team and they are showing the desire to fight for the team and we are confident that they will add depth and attacking options into our team.

“It’s our objective as a team that we need to move away from the relegation zone if we are to achieve that, we definitely need to win our game against Chapungu,” said Mangombe.
