IN the absence of defending champion Yer-Maan, Rock the Country will be aiming for a double at the OK Grand Challenge at Borrowdale Racecourse this afternoon. After winning the Castle Tankard, Rock The Country will have to contend with 16 other runners in the 1 800 meters race. The (Grade Two) event has $40 000 in stakes and the main race, will be race seven.

Fans and shoppers from all walks of life are expected to descend on the race course for a festival of fun which should set the tone for tomorrow’s big Nations Cup qualifier between Zimbabwe and Malawi.

The bookmakers believe Flax who is placed 3/1 odds will be the favourite.

The South African thoroughbred will be one of the five horses races trained by Bridget Stido taking part in today’s race.
