A Harare woman has sought refuge at her neighbour’s house for fear of her step-brother who is threatening to kill her for cheating on her husband, the Civil Court heard yesterday.

Virginia Muganyi told magistrate Mr Trevor Nyatsanza that Tinei Bonjisi had turned her husband against her through false allegations. Muganyi was seeking a protection order against Bonjisi whom she accused of breaching her peace.

“He is threatening to kill me and as we speak right now, I am staying with my next door neighbour because I am afraid of losing my life,” said.

Bonjisi denied the allegations and accused Muganyi of cheating on her husband. Mr Nyatsanza granted the order in Muganyi’s favour which barred Bonjisi from abusing her.

Meanwhile, a woman is seeking a protection order against her nephew who is threatening to stab her with a knife saying her heart disease was taking long to kill her.

In her application filed at the Civil Court, Emmaculata Rusike claimed Gamuchirai Murwira was accusing her of engaging in witchcraft. The matter was supposed to appear in court yesterday before magistrate Mr Trevor Nyatsanza but was struck off the roll as both parties were in default.

“He is always accusing me of engaging in witchcraft and threatens to finish me off with a knife saying my heart disease was taking long to kill me,” reads part of Rusike’s application.

Rusike claimed Murwira was in the habit of taking illicit drugs and coming home during the night while making noise.

“Each time he takes drugs, he starts verbally abusing me, threatening to break my doors and window panes,” reads her application.

She also said she was an elderly woman and was unable to live under such a violent environment.
