We have to remain calm: Antipas Joey Antipas

CHICKEN INN head coach Joey Antipas has reckoned that there is need for his charges to remain calm after posting three consecutive wins.

In their last three league matches, the Gamecocks have accounted for GreenFuel, Highlanders and Hwange.

It is a development that has put them on 15 points and they are now at par with log leaders Highlanders, who remain top of the log standings courtesy of a superior goal difference.

“It’s always pleasing to climb up the ladder and we are catching up with clubs like Highlanders who started so well. We had a shaky start but we have to remain calm and avoid being carried away.

“Our focus now is on our game against Yadah FC which is on Saturday (tomorrow). Yadah have been doing well so it’s going to be tricky for us,” said Antipas whose side moved to second position, after former champions FC Platinum and Simba Bhora dropped points in their Week Eight matches against ZPC Kariba and Bikita Minerals respectively.

FC Platinum suffered their first defeat of the season after losing 1-0 to ZPC Kariba.

Simba Bhora occupied the third spot with 13 points and Pure Platinum Play dropped to number four after amassing 12 points.

However, the platinum miners still await the judgment of their abandoned tie against CAPS United.

It was called off due to crowd trouble when they were leading 1-0.

In their next game, FC Platinum will travel to Mutare to face Manica Diamonds at Sakubva Stadium.

Bruised Simba Bhora will seek to get it right when they welcome Gweru-based TelOne at Wadzanai Stadium.

On Sunday, Bulawayo Chiefs will have a home tie against Chegutu Pirates at Luveve Stadium.

Highlanders will fight it out against CAPS United in a blockbuster tie that is expected to attract a huge crowd at Barbourfields Stadium.

Hwange will meet Herentals College at the Colliery Stadium while GreenFuel does battles against Arenel Movers at GreenFuel Arena.

ZPC Kariba will have a home date with Bikita Minerals at Nyamhunga Stadium.

Rufaro Stadium will be the venue for the tie between Dynamos and inconsistent defending league champions Ngezi Platinum Stars.
