Ephesians 6 vs 11

“Put on the full armour of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.”

I had the most interesting experience yesterday morning on my way to work. As I was driving along the road I saw a crowd gathered as a fire tender was pulling off and going in an opposite direction. As I arrived at the scene where everyone was gathered, I slowed down to enquire what had happened from a familiar face I had noticed in the crowd. I was then told that an accident had just taken place and that someone had just lost their life. As I glanced at the two vehicles that were parked a few metres away from each other, I noticed a covered body.

As I spoke to the gentleman I knew, the other man who was standing next to him asked for a lift to town from me. I gladly obliged. As we drove off the man in the car kept repeating the phrase “the devil is liar” to himself. I asked him what he meant and he proceeded to tell me how the accident he had just been involved in had occurred and how he had survived it.

He mentioned that he and the driver had escaped injury or harm and that everyone else who was seated at the back of the vehicle had sustained serious injuries.

He went on to tell me that he had been involved in another accident not so long ago, and that the accident had occurred three days after purchasing his car. From the sale of the car wreck, he accumulated enough money from the proceeds to buy a residential stand where he was currently building a house.

He then explained this phrase “the devil is a liar”, saying that each time you are on the brink of a major blessing or victory the devil tries to rob you of your happiness. He declared that he would not be robbed of his faith in God and that after having been spared death, it was his responsibility to declare the goodness of God.

What a remarkable testimony I thought to myself. Life is full of lessons, I learnt an important lesson yesterday, that whatever God has deemed for your life will come to fruition. Despite the circumstances you will face, nothing can stop your blessings. In life’s journey you will be slowed down, delayed and sometimes thrown off course, but remain resolute; nothing can take away what God has decreed for you.

Be blessed!
