THEMBELANI Vundhla returned to where he started it all in his golfing career to win the Elephant Hills Amateur Championships over the Heroes and Defence Forces holiday. Vundhla, who has since relocated to Harare and is now part of the Chapman Golf Club family, was at his former home course the Elephant Hills in Victoria Falls, where he won the event.
The player defied the odds to win with an impressive five-under-par score 211 after four rounds. The now Chapman A team player was in terrific form as he battled against some top players. The event, in its first year, and it was Vundhla who may have utilised course knowledge to his advantage. But not taking anything away from the young man a five-under-par score shows he was in terrific form.

Bradley Hudson finished second on 223 points after another good performance as new kid on the block Steven Simukai was third. Pride Sembo, Biggie Chibvuri, Clive Nguru, Diamond Jackson, Josphat Phiri, John Milanzi and Steven Hazangwi completed the top10.
Zimbabwe Golf Association vice-president Boniface Chigorimbo praised Vundhla’s performance and believes the competition is now healthy.
