ZIMBABWE’S top-ranked professional golfer Scott Vincent today had a decent start on his return to the course after he finished the first nine holes of the opening round on two-under-par 70 at the Japanese Golf Tour’s Shigeo Nagashima Invitational Sega Sammy Cup.
The 29-year-old is getting involved in competitions for the first time following his fair performances at the recently held Olympics.
Nagashima Invitational Sega Sammy is the first event after a six-week prolonged 2021 season break due to Covid-19 pandemic.
Vincent is currently tied on position 42 and needs to improve in the second round to catch up with leaderboard pacesetter, Young-Han SONG, who carded a seven-under 65.
The field has 138 players and this week’s game will be without spectators under the Ciovid-19 protocols.
The event was last held in 2018 when Ryo Ishikawa won the title on 20-under.
