Vincent brothers  continue to shine Scott Vincent

IN-FORM Zimbabwe professional golfer, Scott Vincent, continued with his fine form on the Japan Tour after finishing in a tie for fifth position at the Tokai Classic. 

The tourney at the par-71 Miyoshi Country Club, Miyoshi, in Aichi Prefecture, Japan, ended on Sunday.

Vincent, who has two victories and a runners-up finish on the Japan Tour this season, closed with a one-under-par 70, to finish on nine-under par 275. The 29-year-old was five shots behind 31-year-old Korean-American Kim Chan, who closed with a two-under par 69.

 With a final total of 14-under-par-270, Kim secured his second victory on the Japan Golf Tour, 10 months after winning the JT Cup in December last year, and his sixth overall title in his career. 

The Tokai Classic, which has a prize fund of 22 million Japanese Yen (about US$200 000) is one of the leading professional golf tournaments, on the Japan Tour, with a history dating back to 1970. 

Meanwhile, Vincent’s young brother, Kieran, helped his Liberty University to finish on one-under par 287, during round one of the 2021 Marquette Intercollegiate at Erin Hills, in the United States, on Sunday.

The Flames kicked off their 2021-2022 season ranked number 25, in the Golfweek pre-season top 25 poll, and now find themselves in eighth place, out of 17 teams, after one trip around the famed Erin Hill Golf Course.
