“We are going to hold our final selection exercise at Rufaro tomorrow (today) and in Bulawayo they will hold the trials on Saturday.

“We have decided to hold the trials early so that we can beat the Caf deadline of July 15 but after the exercise other emerging talent will also be considered for selection as we still have to attend the M and H inter-provincial finals this month end.
“We are very excited about this development as it is the first time holding the trials for the selection of junior national teams.

“Coaches from inter-districts will chose provisional squads from their respective provinces,” he said.
Chigowe said in a bid to stop age-cheating they are now deal directly with the school heads.

“Caf has introduced bone-testing for age verification which should be adhered to by all African countries and we are happy that Caf embraced this method which will allow a level playing field.

“We are also monitoring the youngsters closely to avoid such activities and we have decided to deal with the headmasters in trying to avoid age cheating,” added Chigowe.
