A was man was axed to death by four accomplices after being accused of stealing a cellphone during a beer-drinking spree in Shangani.

Police are still investigating the incident which happened on March 27.

In a statement, national police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said: “Police in Fort Rixon are investigating a case of murder in which a male adult only identified as Sadol  died.

“Four unidentified male suspects allegedly struck the victim with an axe on the head at Moffat Area, Shangani on March 27, 2024, following an argument in which the suspects had accused the victim of stealing a cellphone during a beer drinking spree.

“The body of the victim was found dumped in a nearby bush on March 28,” he said.

Police in Harare are also investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a yet-to-be-identified male adult whose body was found at the corner of Nelson Mandela Avenue and Park Street, Harare on March 29.

The victim was wearing a red jersey, boxer short and a pair of white socks.

Police appealed to anyone with information to report at any nearest police station.

In another case, police are investigating the circumstances of the death of Munyaradzi Masango (46) who is believed to have been murdered.

Masango was found dead with two stab wounds on the chest at a house in Entumbane, Bulawayo on March 28.

Police in Hatfield are investigating a fatal road traffic accident that occurred along Seke Road on March 29, 2024, at around 1230 hours in which a yet-to-be-identified female adult died.

The victim was hit by a Grey Nissan NV350 vehicle while crossing the road. His body was taken to Chitungwiza Central Hospital mortuary for post-mortem.
