Subduing kingdoms: Part 1

“Who through faith subdued kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions.” Hebrews 11:33

There is a kind of faith that helps a believer to subdue kingdoms. Subduing kingdoms means taking over kingdoms. You have to understand that the word of God is so powerful; not because God gave it power, but the word of God is God Himself. There is no God and then His word because God is His word and His word is God.

The word of God represents His power because it is Himself. As powerful as God is, so is His word. Whenever you sit down and the word of God is about to come to you, you need to appreciate that it is God Himself coming to you. When God wants to visit you, what visits you is His word.

When you see the word of God coming, that is the coming of the Lord in your life. If you have the word of God present in your life you should never doubt that you have the Lord present in your life.

God can solve your most critical situation through His word; for with God nothing is impossible. When Lazarus had died for four days, Jesus came and turned what they called a funeral into the glory of God.

That act alone shows what subduing kingdoms looks like. Jesus walked into the funeral environment and was supposed to be affected by whatever was happening there.

That incident was supposed to change Him, but He refused to be changed; He brought change rather. Jesus made the decision to change the environment. Lazarus’ sister was just supposed to believe if she wanted to see the glory of the Lord. She just had to believe that Jesus was able to do it for her.

In life, it is not everything you are going to do by yourself for yourself; you simply need people you believe in and they will do certain things for you.

What you cannot do, you have to believe that there is somebody who can do it for you. You cannot change your situation on your own, but there is Jesus, whom if you believe in today, you will see the glory of the Lord.

The situation of Lazarus seemed impossible to solve because the man was no longer just dead, but he had decomposed. It was a situation well beyond repair just like what many people are experiencing today. Jesus never came when you wanted him to come because He wanted the testimony to be bigger.

Coming on the first day of the funeral would weaken the testimony of Lazarus and that is why God did not come to rescue you last year. You will surely have multiple divine visitations this year that you cannot even number.

There are prayers you did a couple of years ago asking God for something that you cannot even remember today. When you see such things happening today it is as if you never prayed for it.

Maybe you prayed more three years ago than you are praying this year, but in the arrival of God’s answers, there will be congestion of answers from God to His people.

You prayed for a couple of things and all this while, everything you did never worked, but when you are tired answers will begin to appear. At the last moment when your situation is behind the grave the King of kings will appear to make things right.

After Lazarus was already buried, Jesus appeared asking them where they had buried him. Jesus is not just a prophet, but He owns prophets, yet He asked them a question as if He did not know or see where they had buried Lazarus. Jesus can do anything for you, but He wants you to give Him the right.

Jesus is prophetic and He has the power to raise the dead but still, He asked where Lazarus was buried. Jesus knew where Lazarus was buried, but He wants people to participate in their deliverance.

You have to point your finger at your problem and show Jesus what you are going through. Jesus wants you to say something about your problem before He can deal with it.

It is amazing how the God we serve takes His time coming. There are times when you want God to hurry because you feel like you are drowning. Sometimes you can diagnose yourself and say that you only have two days left to live.

Because of your own assessment you would want God to be in a hurry but if you look at how He comes, He is too slow.

The reason why God should hurry is only when He cannot do anything with the worst case scenario.

That is the only reason that makes all of us hurry. If Jesus was only able to heal and not able to resurrect Lazarus, He was supposed to hurry and be there before Lazarus 0dies.

What makes Jesus take His time without hurrying is because He knows that whatever happens cannot compromise His power. He can still do anything after any situation whether the man is sick or dead.

Jesus is not afraid that something might happen which He cannot do anything about; that is why God seems to be very slow with you. Sometimes when God is coming, He does not send you a letter informing you. He can send you a messenger in form of a prophet.

Throughout the bible, the main responsibility of prophets was to announce the coming of the Lord. From the Old Testament, for our Lord Jesus to be born on earth, there was need for prophecy that covers that area. There was need for a prophet to have said that.

Before God created people He created places. Physically, places are older than all of us. We are talking about territorial dominance which means your dominion and influence is confined within certain territories. If you move out of your territory and enter into another, you may be dominated by something else that owns that territory.

You have your own place of dominance and your boundaries are supposed to be clearly marked. When you are within the place that God gave to you, you have to relax.

Nehemiah was given a mandate by God to rebuild Jerusalem and the enemies did everything to stop him, but they could not.

They devised a plan whereby they send him a letter inviting him to the valley of Ono. They wanted him to leave his place of dominance into valley places where they dominated. Nehemiah knew their plan of luring him out of his place of dominance and he declined their invitation.
