Simba Bhora …. (1) 1

Triangle………… 0) 1

SIMBA Bhora’s winless streak continued yesterday after they were held to a one-all draw by Triangle in a Castle Lager Premiership Soccer League match at the National Sports Stadium.

The game did not see much action as the home team struggled to make a mark in the final third for the better part of the game.

Simba Bhora have played four consecutive draws and they have not registered a win in their last seven games.

The stalemate also meant Triangle have now registered seven consecutive draws and are unbeaten in their last eight games.

Simba Bhora controlled the game in the early stages but Triangle found their way into the game as it progressed.

Simba Bhora captain and striker Tinashe Balakasi was short of supply and could have gotten himself on the scoresheet but his shot was safely collected by Triangle goal minder Matripples Muleya.

Teammate Albert Manenji drew the first blood in the 44th minute as Simba Bhora went to the breather ahead.

Triangle came back in the second half a more rejuvenated side and their efforts were rewarded in the 79th minute as Ariel Makopa headed home from a set piece that was delivered by Norbert Zingo.

Simba Bhora coach Tonderai Ndiraya was left frustrated by the failure of his charges to protect their lead.

“We are spending a lot of time addressing (defending from) set-pieces and, conceding the same way is so disappointing.

“I am disappointed as there is nothing frustrating about conceding from a dead ball situation when you have time to organise yourself and attack the ball.

“Today we failed to apply the basics but we will take the point home as we have to keep trying. That is football. The fourth draw on the trot is not pleasing but we have to take a point home,” said Ndiraya.

Triangle coach Thulani Sibanda was delighted with the way his boys composed themselves to level matters from behind.

However, Sibanda is concerned about the number of draws his team has earned this season. But a point on the road was welcome yesterday.

“I am delighted with the way the boys play. They came from a goal down to level and gained us a crucial point away from home.

“Some of the boys took time to adjust while we were in the game.

“Getting a point away is good but we have had so many draws. We need to start harvesting points, especially at home.”

Simba Bhora are now on 12 points while Triangle are on 15 points, with both teams in the bottom half of the table.
