SEVEN Flames assistant coach Gift Muzire was left ruing the chances missed by his charges yesterday when they were held to a goalless draw by 10-man DC Academy in a Northern Region Division One soccer match at Rufaro.

The army side dominated the game creating a number of chances but failed to break through the DC Academy defence and they had to be contend with a draw. DC Academy were reduced to 10 men in the 17th minute after their defender Clive Munjoma was sent for an early shower for a second bookable offence. However, they managed to contain the hosts for the rest of the match and walked away with a point.

Muzire, who was in charge of the team yesterday, conceded they were wasteful but added that they were satisfied with the point they got.

“We played well but we could not convert the chances we got, it was just not our day. We were at an advantage, they were delaying but we couldn’t score. “From a win to a draw it’s not bad playing DC Academy, they survived relegation last year and this season they have good players so getting a draw against DC Academy I think it’s a good result for Seven Flames

“We need to concentrate on finishing as for the defence and midfield I think they are playing well. So we just need to work on finishing,” said Muzire.

DC Academy coach Gift Shangwa was pleased with the point they picked considering that they were a man down after Munjoma got a red card.

“I think today we did well. The guys played very well but unfortunately we got a red card in the first 17 minutes of the game but it didn’t change our play.

“With a bit of luck we should have won this game but I am happy because we were a man down and a point away from home is okay,” said Shangwa.
