AFTER the Zimbabwe Netball Association successfully conducted a netball coaching and refereeing clinic at Windview Primary School in Ruwa, the school will host the 2022 Elite Primary Schools Association’s Section B netball festival today.

The festival will be attended by eight schools who will bring two teams each which are the Under-13 and the Fillies.

Some of the schools to attend the festival are Beatrice Primary School, the host Windview Primary School, Old Windsor, Highlands, Admiral Tait and Lewisam, among others. Windview Primary School, who hosted the coaching clinic last weekend, will have eight private schools converge for the prestigious event aimed at promoting netball at junior level. Windview Primary School’s sports director, Prince Nechavava, said the drive is to develop the sport from grassroots level.

“The drive is to see the game of netball being developed from the grassroots level and the Head in Charge EPSA netball, Egines Dube, who is Windview Primary School head, invited the Zimbabwe Netball Association (ZINA) to conduct a workshop on refereeing and coaching at the school last week.

“The well-attended workshop was in preparation of the festival. All netball-loving people are invited to come and support the sport code for its development.

“ZINA will provide some officials who are well versed with the sport.

“The eight teams coming for the festival were involved in the EPSA netball fixtures this term, thus the festival will be used to conclude the term,” said Nechavava.
