THE prevailing difficult economic conditions are temporary as Government is implementing a raft of measures to reverse their effects, a Cabinet minister has said. Defence and War Veterans Minister Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri said President Mnangagwa would act to turnaround the country’s economic fortunes.

Minister Muchinguri-Kashiri said this while addressing zanu-pf supporters who attended celebrations to mark her appointment to the Defence Ministry held in Mutasa Central on Saturday. She said all the tactics being employed by a few individuals bent on derailing the economy and tarnishing the zanu-pf-led Government were now in the spotlight and measures to contain them were being implemented.

“I would like to say sorry to people who are working to derail the zanu-pf-led Government’s efforts to turnaround the economy,” said Minister Muchinguri-Kashiri.

“Our President and his Government are already way ahead of you. It takes time to turnaround the economy. Take note of other economic giants like China and America who went through industrialisation and took a long time to be where they are today.”

Minister Muchinguri-Kashiri urged people to be patient as change into the Second Republic would come with pain.

She said people should think of ways to boost production in the country, which would enable companies to export goods and services.
