PETERHOUSE will make history today when it becomes the first school to host a Youth One Day International as the cricket battle between Zimbabwe Under-19 and West Indies Under-19 roll into Manicaland.

The teenagers from the Caribbean have the lead after beating their hosts in the first match in Harare.

But the Zimbabweans showed great spirit in the chase, anchored by a superb knock by captain Luke Roche, but eventually came short.

The West Indies Under-19 had posted 211 in their innings and, in reply, the Zimbabweans were bowled out for 172 in 44.1 overs.

The hosts lost three wickets in their first three overs in the chase.

Now, the two teams, which also met in a World Cup match that created a lot of drama around the globe, meet in the second match at Peterhouse.

That match will always be remembered for the Mankad dismissal of Richard Ngarava, when Zimbabwe looked set for victory, which helped the Windies to power through.

And, to add salt to injury, the Windies went on to be crowned champions of the world.
