HARARE giants Dynamos will have to wait a little longer before they can pop their champagne bottles even if they beat ZPC Kariba and win the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title at the National Sports Stadium tomorrow.

The Glamour Boys, with 54 points, will move to 57 points if they beat ZPC Kariba in their penultimate match at the National Sports Stadium tomorrow.

ZPC Kariba are in second place and one point behind the defending champions on 53.

The Premiership newboys, who have written a fairytale in the championship race, can only finish on 56 points if they lose to Dynamos.

Their last match is against CAPS United.

The title fight will go to the last day if ZPC Kariba either beat or force a draw against the Glamour Boys.

DeMbare can win a fourth straight league title tomorrow if they beat ZPC Kariba. Premier Soccer League chief executive, Kenny Ndebele, said the presentation of the trophy and medals will be done after the last round, even if DeMbare clinches the title with a match to spare.

Ndebele said presenting a trophy tomorrow, in the event that Dynamos win the championship race, would kill the excitement on the last round of matches.

“The presentation of trophy, and the medals will not be done on Saturday, even if one of the team gains an unassailable lead,” said Ndebele.

“We have not planned for an early presentation and will stick to Week 30 of the matches.

“Our competition runs from Game One to Game 30 and that is why we want to present after completing the last games.

“There are teams still fighting for relegation and we do not want to create an impression that we have neglected them and focused on the top. “At this stage all the teams are still part of the Castle Lager Premiership.”

Ndebele said holding the presentation ceremony, to whichever clubs that wins the championship During Week 30 of the race, will also give the league more time to prepare for the ceremony with their sponsors. — Sportszone.
