Thupeyo Muleya Beitbridge Bureau
Beitbridge East legislator Cde Albert Nguluvhe has started rolling out economic, socio-economic and infrastructure development initiatives in the constituency as part of fulfilling the promises he made to his supporters during the election period.

In an interview recently, after donating a solar panel worth R10 000 to a poultry project run by members of Vadzidzi VaJesu Johane Masowe WeChishanu Church, Cde Nguluvhe said it was important for politicians to stick to the promises they would have made to the electorate.

The poultry project, which has 500 chickens and a capacity to produce more than 3 000 birds at any given time, is set to benefit over 300 church members. The church had during the elections requested the MP to assist them in addressing lighting and electricity challenges at their project.

He said besides donating the solar panels, he was finalising the processes to pay school fees for at least 10 children in both the urban and rural components of the constituency.

The beneficiaries, he said will be mostly children who fall under the orphans and vulnerable group.

“It is very important that we get back to the people and fulfil the promises we made to them during the campaign period. As leaders, we must be principled,” said Cde Nguluvhe. “So far I have been meeting with the people, getting their projects and priority areas, and issues they want addressed.

“Currently I am working with traditional leaders in identifying those who will benefit from the cattle breeding project which I expect to take off before the end of this month. In addition, we have had engagements with key Government agencies, among them the District Development Fund (DDF) and they will soon start drilling and repairing boreholes to improve issues of water and sanitation in this area.”

He said it was also important for luminaries from the district to pool resources together and invest in infrastructural and economic development projects.

Cde Nguluvhe encouraged people from his constituency to come up with developmental projects and bring them forward for possible funding or technical assistance.
