THE race in the Northern Region Division One gets to another level when leading teams, Ngezi Platinum and Black Rhinos, clash at Baobab in Selous tomorrow.

The two teams are undefeated going into this game and both teams’ coaches will be taking a cautious approach to the game. Veteran Black Rhinos coach, Droment Chirova, said they were ready for the big encounter.

“We are geared up for the game and we are only missing the services of our skipper, Wonder Kapinda, who is injured.

“We have had enough preparations for the game and the guys are looking forward to it,” said Chirova.

The coach also pleaded with the referees to handle the match well as it was one of the highlights of the season.

“If the referees can handle this match well, I don’t see any challenge of playing away from home.

“It is my wish that the match be balanced and we will see the winner.

“The game is important to us as a win can see us cut the deficit to a single point.

“Results which come out of these games are crucial in determining your strength and position,’” said Chirova.

Clifton Kadurira, however, played down the epic clash.

“There is not much difference with the other games we play and, moreover, the season is in its early stages so we cannot say it’s the game of the season,” said Kadurira.

“We are yet to play many teams but for this one we are also prepared.

“We will miss the services of Evans Katema and Leonard Musengezi who are both suspended on the day.

“It will be an opportune time to see the character of the players, and we will also be welcoming back Merciful Ncube to the team.”
