Following in  the footsteps of the likes of the late Safirio “Mukadota” Madzikatire and Freddy “Kapfupi” Manjalima, actor Bornface Muropa, popularly known as “Mzukuru”, in the acting field has released his debut album titled “Zvakazoita”.
The actor said it was time for him to show his fans other talents he has besides acting.
“This year is an opportunity for me to expand my career. Many  people know me as an actor and not as a musician and hopefully this album will take me to another level in the arts industry,” he said.

The singer said the challenges he faced in the process of recording the album made him to coin such a title.
“It was very difficult for me to record this first product because l did not have enough money that was required but by the grace of God l finally managed to record and that is why called it “Zvakazoita” (it finally happened),”he said.

Recorded at Diamond Studios, the album carries tracks such as “Chimwe neChimwe”, “Mwanasikana”, “Sango” and “Ndibatsireiwo” that focus on social issues that affect people in their daily living. Muropa started singing as a way of entertainment in his dramas but discovered the potential he had and began to take that talent seriously.

“l never thought that one day l would become a musician although l grew up liking music. It was only last year in June when l thought of starting to sing and l realised that my voice was good.

“I started doing rehearsals till l recorded with my band called Wowowo Sounds”, he said.
Muropa’s latest drama called is titled “Vavakidzani  3” and is slowly gaining popularity.

He started acting in 2009 and featured in a local drama called “Landlord neMaroja”. He later did his own drama “Vavakidzani” in 2011 and is planning to release the fourth part of the series this year.
