JOHANNESBURG. — Knowledge Musona has continued his goalscoring habits in Belgium — with his last strike an absolute beauty. The Zimbabwean international soccer striker has been on fire for KV Oostende in the Pro League, netting five goals in nine League starts so far — already matching his season tally for last season.

The latest — the second in a 3-0 win against OH Leuven that keeps them top of the standings — is arguably the best of the lot so far.

However, Musona is still some way off the top of the scoring charts — Ivorian striker and Oostende teammate Zoro Cyriac has 10 goals so far.

Meanwhile, Zimbabwean defender Carlington Nyadombo and midfielder Sipho Jembula have both recovered from hamstring injuries giving Polokwane City a full squad to work with over the next fortnight before they resume absa South African Premiership duty.

Manager Bernard Molekwa said it was business as usual for “Rise and Shine” but now without any injuries or absentees as caretaker coach Nkueni Mayala, prepares for the match against front runners Platinum Stars at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on November 21.

“We are in normal training and we’ll have friendly match to keep sharp over the weekend. It is a nice chance for the coach to work with the squad as everyone is available.”

Polokwane City are one of just three Premier Soccer League clubs without any players off on international duty over the next seven days.

Mayala, the ex-Democratic Republic of Congo goalkeeper, took over from Kosta Papic, marking his first win in four games when the side came from 2-1 down to Maritzburg United 3-2 away last week.

Nyadombo has not played since the end of September while Jembule started the last game.

Polokwane City are in 13th place in the Absa Premiership standings, with nine points, four above the drop zone. — KickOffcom
