Midlands State University (MSU) has opened on-site mobile admission centres in remote areas across the country which will enable students to apply and register without travelling to Gweru or Harare.

In an interview on Tuesday, MSU director of information Mrs Mirirai Mawere said the on-site mobile admission sites across the country were enhancing the application and registration processes for those people living in remote areas.

“We want potential students to be able to access our services without difficulties. The on-site admission sites make it easy for people to apply and register at the same time they can also get a clear idea of some other programmes.

“Those who reside in places far away can be able to apply from those places. They do not need to travel as far as Gweru or Harare to do so,” she said.

She said they were engaging agents that are going to be administering the application and registration through the mobile admission sites.

“The university opened up various on-site admissions to facilitate enrolments for February 2019.

“A timetable has been set and placed on the institutions website indicating the place, date and time the agents will be available in the different areas. On-site admissions are going to be available in places like Gokwe, Bikita, Zaka, Jerera, Beitbridge, Gwanda, Chipinge, Chivhu,” said Mrs Mawere.

She said students who want to enrol at MSU were required to bring original and certified documents to the mobile admission sites.

Mrs Mawere said the roll out of the mobile admission sites would not affect the university’s campuses which were still functional.
