ZIMBABWE international Kelvin Moyo believes they have learnt their lessons from previous Champions League campaigns with FC Platinum and will be looking for success in the upcoming tournament.

FC Platinum suffered a preliminary round knock-out at the hands of Angola’s Primeiro de Agosto earlier this year and have been given another shot at the tournament which begins this December because of changes in the CAF calendar. Agosto went on to reach the semi-finals, losing controversially to Tunisian giants Esperance.

“We have learned a lot from our previous participation in the Champions’ League and this time we are better prepared and ready to do better than last time. “People laughed at us last time when we were knocked out in the preliminary round but look what that team went on to achieve. “We are working very hard to achieve what we have achieved so far, in the league the team has been playing very well and we hope to carry that form to the Champions League. “After playing in the competition last year most of the guys now have experience at that level of the game and it will help us,” said Moyo.

The exuberance is also shared by former Harare City man Farai Madhanhanga. The versatile midfielder have been a pillar of strength with consistent performances for FC Platinum.

Madhanhanga has featured in the Confederation Cup before with the Sunshine Boys and was also a member of the Warriors squad at the CHAN tournament in Rwanda. “I have played in the Confederation Cup before with Harare City and these competitions are just the same so it is not the first time.

“Last time I did not play but this time I will be there and I am ready to help the team go further in the competition, we will not be knocked out in the first round. FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza has since named a 27-men squad for the upcoming edition with a few additions that include Rainsome Pavari from Bulawayo City and Lameck Nhamo of Triangle.
