More than 10 Zim Gossip models will have a rare dance with patrons at Private Lounge at Queensway Shopping centre along Airport Road today and tomorrow.
The models that have been hired for the Redd’s Party that takes place at the lounge over the weekend will entertain patrons when they take to the ramp while they will go partying in the after-party of the event at the same venue.

Zim Gossip models owner Mercy “Catwalk” Mushaninga (on cover picture) said they would have various activities to entertain patrons.
“We are going there mainly for the Redd’s event and we will start in the evening. There will be various give-away prizes and the models will assist in the programme,” she said.

“The models will also take to the ramp to showcase their beauty. After the formal proceedings, the models will be free to join the patrons in merrymaking.”

Mushaninga, however, said after-party participation will not be compulsory for the models.
“Those that do not enjoy partying will be free to go after the formal event but I know they are some that would want to have fun and will be allowed to mix and mingle with patrons.”

She said the event was different from pageants where models would feel the pressure of competition.
“This is a social event and models will obviously be relaxed emotionally.

There is no tension at all because they will go on the ramp for fun.
“Models rarely have time to have fun together away from pageants.

“At most promotional and corporate event, models work as ushers or just come to display products.
“This weekend’s event will be a lighter platform for models to socialise and get to know each other better.”

The models have been rehearsing for the event for the better part of the week to ensure they have a flawless programme at the lounge.
Besides the social events, Mushaninga is the brains behind serious programmes involving models such as Models Against Hunger in Africa, Buy for a Cause and pageants that include Diamond Queen of Africa and Miss Curvy.

An official at Airport Lounge said they were happy to host the two-day party.
“We are honoured to be chosen by the marketers of Redd’s beverage to host their party. We will ensure that we support the organisers of the event and the models in their programme,” he said.

“It will be a good day for our patrons because we have never had a function involving models here.
“It will be exciting because very few patrons would resist dancing with models.”
