MIGHTY Warriors coach Sithetheliwe “Kwinji 15” Sibanda has announced her starting XI that will battle against Tanzania in the opening COSAFA Women’s Championship match at the Nelson Mandela Bay this afternoon.

The match kicks-off at 3:30 pm.

The match will be broadcast on SuperSport Channel 202 and SABC Sport Channel 124.

The Zimbabwe coach is going all out to attack and has deployed three strikers upfront who include Rutendo Makore, Rudo Neshamba and Priviledge Mupeti.

Black Rhinos Queens goalkeeper Precious Mudyiwa, who was the goalkeeper of the tournament at last month’s CAF Champions League COSAFA qualifier, has been relegated to the bench.

Cynthia Shonga will start in goals for the Mighty Warriors. She missed the Champions League regional qualifier after she tested Covid-19 positive before the team’s departure in Harare.

Skipper Emmaculate Msipa and the evergreen Marjoury Nyaumwe will operate from the middle of the park. The Mighty Warriors coach has declared war against the East African guests and is bullish that Zimbabwe will finish top in Group B and advance to the semi-finals.

Botswana and South Sudan meet in the first Group B match at midday.

Zimbabwe Starting 11: Cynthia Shonga, Nokubhosi Ncube, Egness Tumbare, Edeline Mutambami, Sheila Makoto, Shyline Dambamuromo, Marjoury Nyaumwe, Emma Msipa, Priviledge Mupeti, Rutendo Makore, Rudo Neshamba.
