“I have been in the industry as a producer but now this album launch marks the beginning of my musical journey” Producer and musician Forward Mazuruse unveiled his debut album “Jesu Ndiye Zvese” in style on Saturday in the capital. Several arts personalities that included musicians Noel Zembe, Pastor Ngoni and Brian Mufara as well as music critic professor Fred Zindi attended the launch.Mazuruse was grateful saying the launch marked the beginning of his career as a musician.

“I have been in the industry as a producer but now this album launch marks the beginning of my musical journey,” he said.

He said the response he has been getting has been overwhelming.

“The response is overwhelming and this just goes to show that there is potential on the local music scene. Today was more than just a concert but a thanksgiving event as I sought to acknowledge everyone who helped me in my music journey,” Mazuruse said.

Zindi who was the guest of honour said it was good that the producer had released his album.

“He has worked with several musicians as a producer and that enhances his understanding of gospel music in the country. We should give him all the support so that he goes further,” he said.

He said it was encouraging to see a young man who he worked with the famous Frontline Kids set up with Noel Zembe and Emmanuel Thomas among others — living his dream.

“Forward has come far and though he is media shy like some have said here, it has been a long walk and having worked with him I bear testimony to his artistry. I just want to wish him the best in his career and as you can tell from the quality of his music and productions, the man is going far,” he said.

Zembe said the coming of Mazuruse’s album was a blessing to musicians and his fans that will learn from him.

“He has been in the industry for long and the album reflects his experience in the industry,” he said.
