Gutu West Zanu-PF National Assembly candidate Cde John Paradza has been hailed for uniting ruling party members in the constituency ahead of the harmonised elections on July 30.

Speaking at a star rally at Stevens Business Centre in Serima last week, Zanu-PF Politburo member Cde Lovemore Matuke said it was refreshing that party members were united and rallying behind Cde Paradza, who is poised for a convincing win.

Cde Matuke, who is the ruling party Secretary for Security in the Politburo, said the youthful Zanu-PF candidate for Gutu West deserved to be supported owing to his humility and respect for party elders.

“I want to thank Cde Paradza, our youngest candidate in Zanu-PF for uniting members, especially in Ward 5 and 6 where there used to be serious divisions,” he said.

Cde Matuke said the future of the party was bright with cadres like Cde Paradza, whom he said had demonstrated that the opposition cannot penetrate Gutu West.

“I am happy that Cde Paradza, as youthful as he is, has managed to bring notable developmental projects in this ward,” he said. “Despite his young age, he has shown maturity and is ready to take the party to another level here.

“We all know that in Ward 5 and 6 there used to be serious problems as members were not pulling in one direction, but Cde Paradza broke the impasse between warring parties, which is a commendable feat.

“Going forward, that should be the party’s trump card ahead of the harmonised elections. We all know that this is called Gutu Best because of its record of giving the party huge figures during every election.”

Masvingo provincial youth chairman, Cde Brian Munyoro, said Zanu-PF was a brand with vibrant youths whose allegiance was not questionable.

“Cde Paradza is a brand because of his youthful age,” he said. “He has already done many projects, which are assisting villagers up to this day. He has mobilised computers for the local secondary schools, provided cement for the construction of a computer laboratory and coupons for the villagers to grind their maize meal.

“He has also assisted some talented football players from the community and three of them are now with premier soccer league teams.”

Cde Paradza thanked villagers for supporting him and promised to live up his promises once he is elected.

“I want to thank all Zanu-PF members in this constituency for having faith in me,” he said. “I will thrive to represent you effectively and continue to spearhead development in this constituency.

“We should remain united so that we all pull in the same direction. Let us go and vote in numbers for President Mnangagwa, me and our councilors.”
