FC PLATINUM’S championship-winning coach Norman Mapeza is back at work after his doctor gave him the all-clear to resume his duties at the champions. Mapeza missed the opening seven league matches while recovering from a back surgical treatment at his home in the capital after he was injured in a freak gym incident.

However, the former Warriors gaffer is set to be available for the miners on Saturday in their league match against Mutare City after he reported for duty yesterday.

The former Warriors gaffer was initially expected to take about six months to recover, as he needed to undergo some physiotherapy sessions.
Early this year the two-time championship-winning coach apparently sacrificed his health by leading the club in the CAF Champions League against the advice of his doctors.

Club spokesperson Chido Chizondo confirmed that their gaffer was back at work in the mining town of Zvishavane and was set to start working with his champions.

“Norman is back at work in Zvishavane, his doctors have given him the all-clear that he can now do his job after his operation was a success,” she said.

“We are very happy that he is now fit and he recovered earlier than expected, what makes us happier is that he has recovered and his treatment was a success.”
