Liverpool target Traore Jurgen Klopp

LONDON — Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has put Adama Traore at the top of his attacking hit list this summer.

The Wolves winger has established himself as one of the most exciting players in the English Premier League, but a change in management at Molineux may be the green light potential suitors needed before springing into action.

Previous interest in the 25-year-old was met with hostility and an exorbitant valuation which ultimately priced all clubs out of a deal.

As of this summer, however, the Spaniard is supposedly available for around £30million, a price which has perked the interest of numerous clubs.

Chelsea were among those to make enquiries earlier in the summer, although Liverpool are the latest to try their luck with Klopp said to be a big admirer of Traore per the Daily Star.

The sudden drop in value from the astronomical sums being quoted in previous windows can be attributed to a host of factors.

Firstly, although Traore is virtually unplayable when he has the ball at his feet, he has not yet found a way to translate that talent into consistent goals and assists.

The talented winger came with a hefty price-tag because of the unfathomable rewards which any team would benefit from if he did eventually solve that puzzle.

However, with only two goals and two assists in 37 Premier League outings last term, Wolves are perhaps resigned to the idea that he may not ever become exactly what they want him to be.

Furthermore, the change in management from Nuno Espirito Santo to Bruno Lage naturally comes with a change in preference regarding their current squad.

When it comes to a potential move to Anfield, Traore would, in many ways, be the perfect impact player of the bench.

With the likes of Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah extremely hard to displace on either flank, this may be the extent of his role under Klopp, at least in the short-term.

With Traore now into his mid-twenties, it thus becomes an issue of whether this would be enough to satisfy him going forward.

As Salah and Mane both approach their 30th birthdays, however, the Wolves man could be tempted by the longer-term prospects on Merseyside. —  The Daily Express.
