Former director State Occasions in the Office of the President and Cabinet Mrs Anne Anastasia Knuth was buried yesterday at her farm in Harare.

Mrs Knuth succumbed to breast cancer on Monday.

She was 76.

The burial was attended by Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister Monica Mutsvangwa, Ambassador Christopher Mutsvangwa, Ambassador Chipo Zindoga from the OPC, Colonel Nyakudya, senior Government officials, civil servants and Kufunda Village community members among others.

Speakers described Mrs Knuth as a heroine, selfless and dedicated patriot who served and protected her family and country wholeheartedly.

The community also described her as a loving mother who did not discriminate. Ambassador Zindoga who worked with Mrs Knuth read President Mnangagwa’s condolence message to the family where Mrs Knuth was described as a dedicated patriotic. Minister Mutsvangwa applauded Mrs Knuth for working hard.

Ambassador Zindoga said she was shocked by the death of Mrs Knuth.

“We worked together so closely especially during the period 2015-2017 when I was chief of protocol Foreign Affairs. She was a hard worker who was down to earth,” she said.

Brother, Mr Cuthbert Chakanetsa said his sister was upright, honest and a hard worker.

“Her death was a huge loss to the family and the Kufunda Village communities both in Mhondoro and Harare. Mrs Knuth looked after many orphans and helped those in need,” he said.

Mrs Knuth’s daughter Maaianne said her mother had so much love for the family and country.

“She had so much love for the family, siblings and her country. She showed us the power of a strong woman to believe in herself,” she said.

Mrs Knuth was a seasoned journalist by profession.
