JOHANNESBURG. — Khama Billiat has revealed the secrets behind the success of South African soccer champions Mamelodi Sundowns’ much-lauded attacking trio “CBD” this season.

Billiat has been the most impressive player in a trident that has terrorised defences all season, but the Zimbabwean acknowledges that it has as much to do with his teammates as it does his own ability.

“Keagan Dolly is a great football player. Leonardo (Castro) as well. I think we understood each other. We adjusted very quickly to each other’s strengths and weaknesses. And we help each other all of the time,” he tells PSL.co.za.

“I can even go to Keagan’s position when he is out of position, just to make the defensive shape.

“If you look at it, we are all hard workers, with the ball, without the ball. We understand each other, we speak to each other, we watch games together, and we see our mistakes.

“We tell each other the truth, not only the things which we want to hear.

“We have that respect for each other — I don’t take it in a way that the player is disrespecting me or that he does not like me. I take it in a way whereby he is helping me. This has been working for us, we are not big-headed about it.

“But the credit must always go to the team, they supported us, they motivated us and they believed in us. And they spoke to each other, giving us responsibility.” — KickOff.com.
